Terms of Use

Effective Date: September 1, 2026

These are the end user licence terms for the reDream apps. They say what you may do with the app, what it is not, and who is liable for what. They are written to be read rather than to be got through, and they do not take away any right the law gives you as a consumer.

What These Terms Cover

The apps are published by reSoulve, Kyra Lux, in Duisburg, Germany. The full postal address and contact details are in the Legal Notice. These terms cover both reDream (eu.resoulve.redream) and reDream Pro (eu.resoulve.redream.pro), and they apply to your use of either app.

You accept these terms when you first set the app up: the screen that starts you off says so, and links this page and the Privacy Policy from there. Both are linked again inside the app, in Settings under About, so that you can read them at any point afterwards and not only at the moment you were asked.

Downloading and paying happen through Google Play, under Google's own terms, which are between you and Google. Nothing here changes them. How the app handles what you write is set out separately in the Privacy Policy.

Your Licence

You get a personal, non-exclusive right to install and use the app on devices you control, for as long as you keep to these terms. You may not pass that right on to someone else as a sublicence. The app itself is not sold to you as a piece of property: what you acquire is the right to use it.

What You May Not Do

• Sell, rent out, or otherwise commercially redistribute the app.
• Copy or pass the app on to other people, whether or not you are paid for it.
• Repackage or republish either build, or a modified build, as your own or under another name.
• Remove or alter copyright notices, the app's name, or its marks.

Decompiling, disassembling and reverse engineering are permitted to the extent that §§ 69d and 69e UrhG, the German Copyright Act, and the EU Software Directive allow, and these terms do not restrict that. There is no licence check in the app to work around, so there is nothing here about circumventing one.

Free and Pro Are Separate Apps

reDream and reDream Pro are two listings on Google Play with two package names, installed side by side rather than one upgrading the other. Buying Pro grants you nothing in the Free app, and having the Free app grants you nothing in Pro. They also keep separate journals, for the same reason. Moving a journal from one to the other is done with the app's export, and the steps are on the website.

What You Write Is Yours

Your dreams, your thoughts and your tags belong to you. reSoulve claims no rights in them, and could not use them in any case: the app holds them on your device and sends them nowhere. There is no copy of your journal anywhere else.

Not Medical or Therapeutic

reDream is a journal. It is not a medical device, and it is not a diagnostic, therapeutic or clinical tool. It does not assess your mental or physical health, it does not interpret what you write, and it makes no claim about what any dream, tag or statistic means. What the app shows you is a count of what you recorded yourself.

Practising lucid dreaming, keeping a dream journal, or changing your sleep in the hope of either is something you do on your own responsibility. If a dream, a memory that surfaces while writing, or your sleep itself is distressing you, that belongs with a doctor or a therapist rather than with an app. reDream is not built for crisis support and cannot provide any: in an emergency, contact your local emergency services or a health professional. Nothing in reDream is a substitute for professional advice, and nothing in it should delay you seeking it.

Your Data and Your Backups

Everything you write stays on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes your journal, and there is no copy for anyone to restore it from, including reSoulve. A phone that is lost, broken or wiped takes an unexported journal with it.

The app's export exists for exactly this reason, and keeping your own copies is your part of the arrangement. Please make exports as often as your journal is worth to you, and keep them somewhere separate from the phone. If you protect an export with a passphrase, that passphrase is never stored by the app and cannot be recovered or reset by anyone: forgetting it means that copy cannot be opened again.

Payment

reDream Pro is a one-time purchase through Google Play. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, and no billing code inside the app. Payment, invoicing and refunds are handled by Google under Google's terms, so a refund request goes to Google Play rather than to reSoulve. Your statutory rights, including any right of withdrawal you have as a consumer, are unaffected by this.

Updates and Availability

Updates that keep the app working as agreed, and updates that keep it secure, are supplied for as long as you can reasonably expect them for an app of this kind, as the law requires for paid digital products. You will need to install them for them to take effect.

New features are a different matter. Nothing here entitles you to a particular feature, to a feature staying exactly as it is, or to any given release arriving. Features may change or be removed as the app develops.

There is also no promise that either listing stays on Google Play indefinitely. If one is withdrawn, the copy already installed on your device keeps working, and your export is how you take your journal elsewhere.

Warranty and Liability

Your statutory warranty rights as a consumer apply in full, and nothing here limits them. Software of this size is written and tested carefully but is never provably free of faults, and if you find one, write to us.

reSoulve is liable without limit for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the Produkthaftungsgesetz, the German Product Liability Act. For ordinary negligence, liability arises only where an obligation essential to the purpose of this agreement has been breached, and is then limited to the foreseeable damage typical for an agreement of this kind.

Because the app keeps your journal only on your device, backups are your responsibility, and the export exists so that you can keep them at whatever interval the data is worth to you. Within the limits set out above, liability for lost data is limited to the effort that recovering it from a properly maintained backup would have taken. Where a loss happened because no such backup was kept, that is taken into account as contributory fault under § 254 BGB, the German Civil Code.

Third-Party Software

reDream is built with Flutter and a number of open-source packages, each under its own licence. Those licences govern those components, and nothing in these terms displaces them.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated, for instance when the app changes or the law does. A change carries a new Effective Date, and a material one is announced in the app and on this website before it takes effect, so that you can read it and decide. A change applies to your use of the app from its Effective Date onwards. It does not reach backwards into use that already happened under the earlier version.

Governing Law

German law applies. If you are a consumer resident in another country, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of the country you live in.

reSoulve does not take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
